The 10th Annual Smithfield Farmers Market kicks off in the spring and is the best place to find fresh local produce, farm meats and seafood, and handcrafted food items all year long. There are specialty markets throughout the season, like the May 7 Mother's Day Market. Saturdays from 9-12

Spring Country Vintage Market

Join the City of Smithfield at the Wight County Fairgrounds for this once-a-year event! The Spring Country Vintage Market is a ticketed event that features a food court, live music, and plenty of vendors. It's a day-long shopping experience, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a wagon to haul your goodies. April 30, 2022

Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Smithfield

A pleasant way to spend a sunny spring afternoon is to take a walking tour of historic Smithfield! The Genuine Smithfield Walking Tour features over 50 well-preserved, historically-significant buildings from bygone eras. Tours may be self-guided or hosted. 

Visit Local Farms in Isle of Wight County

Looking to buy some different local produce or learn more about some local offerings? If so, 13 different farms throughout the Isle of Wight County will be opening their doors for a relaxing day of shopping and education on what they do best. Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 14th.

Vineyard Events 

Within minutes of Smithfield, enjoy wine and live music at the tranquil Summerwind Vineyard & Tasting Room. Here you will be swept away by the ever changing musical talent and soothing wine starting April 15th. Or test your palette at the Wine Guild at Bon Vivant on April 15th and don’t forget to bring your own chair!

Celebrate Easter brunch with the family at The Smithfield Inn. Enjoy a lovely meal right in the heart of downtown Smithfield at this staple restaurant. Be sure to call ahead and make a reservation for April 17th. 

Spring Fest 

The second annual Spring Fest will start Friday April 22nd and you won’t want to miss it! Bring the family or go with friends and check out the carnival for thrilling rides or yummy treats and be sure to check out either the rodeo or Demolition Derby.
