Unlimited Possibilities of FUN

Patrice and Mike have nothing but great things to say about living in Barley Woods in Fredericksburg. “Our new home is exactly right for us, the neighbors are so friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient to everything.”   

Embracing a new phase of life is exactly what Patrice and Mike have done.   They both have taken advantage of the unlimited possibilities that are available at Barley Woods to have fun and enjoy this new chapter.    

Patrice said, “We really enjoy the monthly coffees at the clubhouse.   They are very well attended and often we find a guest speaker, such as a Civil War historian, a nutritionist, and a travel agency.  We also like anything where there’s food to share.  Seems there are a bunch of good cooks here!”   

Some of the biggest and most popular social functions at Barley Woods are the Ugly Sweater Holiday Party, Super Bowl Party, and numerous cookouts in the summer and fall.  And of course, the Friday night Happy Hours.   The current social distancing rules have not stopped this lively group on Friday nights.   Weather permitting, they all grab their chairs and beverages and meet in driveways and streets to greet and catch up with each other.   Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Patrice and Mike love the “close-knit” atmosphere at Barley Woods.   “We know pretty much all of our neighbors.  A lot of us love to travel, everyone enjoys going out to dinner, and many of us have dogs or walk for fitness.   We love  to stop and talk to neighbors when walking on the sidewalks or trails.”   Pat said that they are certainly more social than they have ever been before and feels this is due to the welcoming spirit of the community.   “You don’t find this everywhere and this is certainly a special place!”   Some of the social gatherings at Barley Woods include:
